Damsel In Defense MLM Review: Build An Income Selling Self Defense?

Table of Contents

Damsel in Defense

Many young women should consider self-defense as they prepare to attend college and live on their own.

According to statistics, 20% of women said “yes” when asked if they had ever been forced to have sexual activity against their will. in a study of 5,000 college women from over 100 colleges conducted by the “United States Centers for Disease Control.”

This is why one in every five college women in the US has been raped at some point in her life. M.K. (Mary Kross)

This statistic is important because it has a significant impact on why women should learn self-defense.

Human trafficking has been on the rise, in addition to rape.

The human trafficking industry kidnaps people (men, women, and children) on a daily basis.

In today’s world, self-defense is becoming highly important.

But did you know you can make money by selling self-defense products?

You almost certainly did, which is why you’re looking for Damsel in Defense reviews to see if they’re legit.

This Damsel in Defense review will look more closely at the network marketing company to see whether it’s a legit business opportunity or a scam.

You will find out whether Network Marketing (MLM) is the best online business for you.

Finally, you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Damsel In Defense and Network Marketing in general.

But most importantly, you’ll see the exact system many others have used to build their own internet marketing business to over $40,000 a month in mostly passive income.

This system made them swear off Network Marketing for good, because it uses some of the same skills but in a much more powerful and profitable way!

What Is Damsel In Defense?

Self Defense MLM

Damsel in Defense is a multi-level marketing (MLM) sales company that offers self-defense and protection products (such as stun guns, pepper spray, striking tools, and concealed carry purses) to women through in-home sales and product parties. Damsel in Defense was founded in 2011 by Mindy Lin and Bethany Hughes.

Damsel and Defense is not the typical MLM company that I’ve come across. Not just because of their business model, but because they’ve put together direct sales with civilian-grade less-lethal weapons, a type of protection product designed to cause temporary harm to another person without causing death or permanent injury.

These self-defense products that aim to protect women were also referred to as non-lethal weapons, but the term less-lethal appears to be getting more popular, particularly when discussing military-grade versions used by police officers.

Confidence

However, most would agree that there is a chance of a fatality when using these weapons. As a result, calling them non-lethal is misleading.

Manufacturers prefer to use the more precise term “less lethal” because they do not want to misrepresent their products, particularly those that are intended to cause injury, even if it is temporary or minor, with others.

This sector of the civilian self-defense industry is expected to reach $80 million in North America over the next few years (Source: PRNewswire – June 10, 2016).

Damsel In Defense History: How It All Started

How It All Started

Damsel in Defense is run by two families.

Mindy Lin (CMO) and Bethany Hughes (CSO) founded the network marketing company, which they now run alongside their significant others Jimmy Lin (CFO) and Chris Hughes (COO).

Equipping, educating, and empowering women is the mission of the company. In order for them to protect themselves and their families.

Bethany and Mindy met for the first time in 2010. Bethany, who has a background in self-defense products, suggested that they sell them at swap meets to earn extra cash.

Mindy had previously worked for a direct-sales company, and her background instantly shifted the focus of swap meets to women’s living areas, and Damsel in Defense was founded in September 2011.

Damsel in Defense’s CEO is Bob Hipple.

What Are Damsel’s Defense Products?

Products

Damsel in Defense has stun guns, pepper spray, and conceal carry handbags for everyone.

  • Stun Guns
  • Pepper Sprays
  • Security On The Go
  • Concealed Carry Purses
  • RFID Protection
  • SAFE Hearts Family Education

  • Apparel
  • Protect and Fortify Wellness

What Is Pepper Spray?

Pepper Spray

Pepper spray is a non-lethal weapon that is sprayed into the face of an attacker.

It has an effect on the mucous membranes, causing the capillaries in the eyes to dilate rapidly, causing blindness.

The lining of the bronchial tube swells as well, making it difficult for the attacker to obtain additional oxygen.

A burst of spray can have an effect on the eyes, throat, nose, and lungs for up to 90 minutes.

Since pepper spray is an inflammatory substance, it can affect on people who do not feel pain, such as psychotics, drug addicts, or inebriated people.

It is carried by many mail carriers because it is effective against an attacking animal.

This benefit has become more relevant as newly developed neighborhoods encroach on rural land, causing conflicts between people and wildlife.

The spray can also help joggers who run on rural trails near their homes.

The active ingredient that’s in a pepper spray is called oleoresin capsicum (OC), which is derived from hot cayenne peppers.

Sprays containing 2-10% OC incapacitate more quickly than those containing higher concentrations.

Some sprays also have an indelible dye that can be used to track down the attacker.

Self Defense MLM

Is Damsel In Defense A Legitimate MLM Company? Is Damsel In Defense A Pyramid Scheme?

It's Legit

In the legal sense, they are not a pyramid scheme.

This is a legitimate company that sells self-defense weapons.

It is based on a multi-level marketing business model.

It is also a member of the Direct Selling Association.

Because DSA members must adhere to a strict code of ethics, it is nearly impossible for a pyramid scheme to be approved as a member.

Damsel In Defense Reviews: Can Damsel In Defense Help You Make Money As A Salesperson?

Yes, You can!

But…

There is a lot that comes with Network Marketing that many people find difficult.

In fact, check out these Top 5 Reason Why Most Network Marketers Fail.

Now, don’t get the wrong idea…

It’s not impossible to make money with MLMs, but if you’re going to put in a lot of effort to learn the ropes (which, believe us, isn’t easy), you might as well make some REAL money while you’re at it.

The program that helped skyrocket many online business to over $40,000+ per month is so simple that making money really does become second nature.

However, in order to give you with a better understanding of the company and allow you to make a wise decision, let us talk about their compensation plan.

Compensation Plan

Damsel in Defense’s compensation plan is fairly complicated because it is both a direct selling company and an MLM sales company, requiring you to achieve and maintain your own personal sales volume, as well as a team and group volumes and recruit numbers.

Damsel in Defense evaluates your personal volume over three months and non-digital products must account for at least 50% of your over all sales volume.

A Recruit earns a 25% commission until they accumulate $1000 in volume, at that point they are promoted to the rank of Protege, where the commission rate increases to 30%.

If you recruit another member and receive 30% commission on your own sales and 4% commission on their sales, you will be promoted to Junior Mentor.

Over a three-month rolling period, a sales volume of $150 must be maintained.

As you progress, you’ll join groups and teams, each with a volume requirement, and you’ll earn commission on first, second, and third-generation recruits..

We can’t blame you if this compensation plan confuses you. The majority of MLM plans are difficult to understand.

Damsel In Defense Reviews: What Are Customers Saying?

Customer Reviews

We only found 1 customer review for one Damsel In Defense product, Get A Grip Stun Guns, on the internet.

It received a 1-star rating from the customer, who stated that it is unreliable:

The issue with this stun gun is that it only works if the pin is inserted. Great idea: pin it in, then wrap it around your wrist so it doesn’t work if you take it away from you.

The issue is that the pin constantly falls out. So it doesn’t work when you need it.

You take it out if someone is approaching you, or in my case, a mountain lion, and you don’t have time to constantly be putting it back in.

This is my second model, and both of them have the same flaw. It’s not worth putting your life on the line.

Damsel In Defense Reviews: The Pros And Cons

Pros

Lifetime Warranty And Incident Replacement Policy

  • Damsel in Defense will replace your product for free if you use or lose it in self-defense and provide a police report.

They Have a Very Appealing Cause.

  • Damsel In Defense’s products may not be the best on the market, but selling a cause in addition to a product is a good thing. Nowadays, a woman does not have to be a damsel in distress. Their products are an effective tool for increasing women’s power.

Reasonable Prices

  • Damsel In Defense defense product pricing are comparable to those of similar products and competitors, unlike several network marketing companies that sell products at double or even triple the price of their non-MLM competitors.

Affordable Starter Kit

  • Starting out at Damsel in Defense is cheap, and the Starter Kit gives you a lot of bang for your buck.

Damsel in Defense does not boast about opulent lifestyles or fake freedom fantasies. These other network marketing companies don’t often, if ever, keep their promises, and most people believe that earning a few hundred dollars or even a couple of thousand dollars extra per month from those business opportunities would be life-changing.

People do not need Ferraris and yachts to feel free and independent. A little goes a long way, and Damsel In Defense hasn’t yet fallen into that trap.

Cons:

Cons

No Income Disclosure Statement

Unfortunately, Damsel in Defense does not provide an income disclosure statement. This raises some red flags.

Why aren’t they as open and transparent about how much money you can make as other MLM companies are?

How much money you make in the end is anyone’s guess.

Plenty Of Recruiting

To earn a percentage of your downline’s sales in Damsel in Defense, you’ll most likely need to recruit a lot of people into your downline.

This entails hosting in-home parties and attempting to recruit new members to widen your network.

Damsel In Defense Review: Our Recommendation

As with any other type of business opportunity, you must weigh the pros and cons.

On the bright side, you have a “business in a box” with help and support, as well as a product line that most women really love.

If you enjoy selling and have a gift for gab, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

But, if you are an introvert who prefers to be at home rather than in someone else’s living room, you might consider starting an online business.

One where you have complete control over your vendor or affiliate relationships and can choose which niches and products to pursue.

There are different ways to make money online and offline. What is important is that you find one that is a good fit for you, because it is pointless to devote all of your time and energy to a business that you do not enjoy.

What Is My #1 Recommendation For Making Money Online?

Passive Income

Our review team has come across a program in the real estate industry that is next level!

Although it’s not real estate in the traditional sense, it’s all digital.

Yup, Digital Real Estate!

Where Damsel In Defense falls short is in scalability.

There are only so many hours in the day and so many people you can reach to sell by yourself.

MLM companies are aware of this! That’s why they push you so hard to recruit for your downline…you can’t get rich as a one-man/woman show.

But what if you could make even more money off of little local websites without having to spend hundreds of dollars on overpriced products and a bunch of time recruiting people to sell under you?

With this digital real estate program, you can make recurring monthly income without constant sales to your friends and constant recruitment!

Sound too good to be true? Of course it does! But it isn’t…in fact, business owners wish they had this skill!

All you have to do is build and rank a LOCAL website and forward the jobs off to a business owner in town, you could even email it to them!

This works for literally any service based business, tree service, plumbing, towing, etc.

How do you get paid and how much?

Simple, after you forward the jobs off to a business owner and he makes some money off of them, you simply ask to make the deal beneficial for each other.

A fair price to charge per lead, depending on the industry is 10-20%…let’s just use the tree service industry for example and go by worst case scenario.

Let’s say you build and rank the site and only 10 jobs a month come in. The average tree service job is anywhere from $500-$2000!

That means at bare minimum you have an asset worth $500 a month!

See why they call it digital real estate now? That’s a rent payment.

The best part is how simple it is to scale. You don’t have to be concerned about:

  • Your upline getting paid before you
  • Begging your friends and family to buy from you
  • Recruiting people all the time

Remember Damsel In Defense? You only get what’s left of the pie if you meet a monthly quota…

The course we recommend actually allows you to collect HUGE FLAT RATE DEALS. Truly passive income!

The training program takes making money online to a whole other level. The owner of the program walks you through how to build and rank a site hand in hand, with the occasional voice over when he is sharing his screen.

You will learn the importance of keywords, website name, how to send call notifications via email, backlinking, etc.

Once the training program is completed, you will also have access to a Facebook group that, in our opinion, is far better compared to the Damsel In Defense MLM. This is a much more active group.

Unlike Damsel In Defense, where you’re getting maybe $10 per sale, you could be getting 10-20X THAT.

A business will always want more leads and another job. In fact it doesn’t even matter that the job isn’t coming from their website name…they see it as it is…expanding digital real estate.

Unlike Damsel In Defense, more people have been able to walk away from their 9-5 job as well.

Digital real estate allows you to have total passive income with most of your day being spent WITH your friends, NOT selling to them.

Now, you probably have tons of questions…

So, check this out to learn more.
