Ambit Energy is a Multi-Level-Marketing company that offers electricity and gas.
It provides “deregulated energy” in order to avoid specific large corporations from “monopolizing” the sector and to give multiple alternatives and price points for different people’s energy needs.
The company appears to provide affordable pricing for a 1-2 year contract, but then automatically places consumers on the variable rate, which appears to be quite expensive when compared to comparable energy suppliers. It was developed in 2006 and provides normal people with the opportunity to earn “free energy” (if they sell 15 packages) and money by becoming “Independent Consultants” (IC). It’s a lot like the Numis Energy MLM.

Ambit also offers good “customer support” to meet the needs of people. However, in my experience, the only thing people care about when it comes to energy suppliers is how cheap they can receive their energy!
These are excellent gimmicky sales methods, but what do genuine customers think of Ambit’s services?
Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau are good sites to find out what real people think about a company. And it doesn’t appear to be promising…
The few positive reviews I found were obviously from Ambit “ICs,” such as the one above, which is never a good sign.
Overall, people just want their homes and businesses to have access to electricity at a reasonable cost.
It’s also worth noting that there are several other MLMs that sell the same products as Ambit Energy:

Can you make money with Ambit Energy?
It’s quite difficult for someone to earn a living off of Ambit.
Over 90% of consultants make an average of $110 per year from Ambit, which is far less than their expenses for being an active consultant.
The only people who appear to make a decent living from Ambit tend to be extremely effective salespeople who approach it as a full-time business rather than a part-time job. That’s quite different from what Ambit implies in the original sales video!
How to make money with Ambit Energy
Ambit Energy allows you to earn money in 2 ways:
- Earn a commission by selling energy services.
- Recruit people to market these services and pay them commissions on sales.
It is worth noting that Ambit, like other MLMs, avoids getting shut down as a pyramid scheme since you DO NOT gain money just by recruiting people.
You receive bonuses for any purchases or sales made by the people you recruit.

A “consultant suite” will also cost you at least $24.95 each month. This comprises mostly of a free replica website and tracking services to know who has joined from you.

This is just more indication that Ambit Energy is legitimate and will not vanish overnight, as many MLM companies do.

The services given are also not going away anytime soon.
Unlike many other crowded MLM markets such as Beautycounte or Young Living, every family and company requires the services supplied by Ambit.
#3 Green energy
With regard to green energy, there has been a significant movement in public opinion.
More people are becoming more aware of the dangers surrounding global warming, and if they can find a legitimate way to feel as if they are making a contribution, many will take advantage of it.
This, I believe, is a significant selling point for Ambit Energy, and it is how they can differentiate themselves from another energy provider.

There are numerous hidden truths that most people will not discover until it is too late.

#2 Monthly expenses
The $24.95 monthly fee for a replica website is unreasonable unlike other MLM companies.
You will not be able to control this website. It is a ready-made that will sit there.
You would believe that this includes training and other perks, but this is just basic stuff. You will need to pay for further training if you want to learn how to get traffic to this website.
Having a website does not guarantee that people will find it. The difficult aspect is figuring out how to get people to find the website, and Ambit doesn’t help with that.
#3 Is Ambit Energy a pyramid scheme?
Here’s the deal…
When you HAVE to recruit people in order to make any good money, the company resembles a “pyramid scheme in disguise.”
This indicates that it is difficult for everyone in the company to make money.
When a corporation focuses primarily on attempting to recruit you, this is a huge red flag. It’s a sign that the company is a pyramid in disguise.
#4 Ambit Energy Lawsuits
There have been other class action lawsuits, such as the one they resolved for $9.3 million in March of 2018…
This isn’t the only one.
Other cases were filed in 2015. Multiple lawsuits filed against a company you want to work for is never a good sign.

Google Trends is the clincher for Ambit Energy…
When you compare the number of individuals that search for Ambit each month to other MLMs such as Farmasi, you can see that Ambit is on the wrong track.
It is far easier to advertise a company that is gaining popularity than one that is declining.

But, in my opinion, what are your odds of making a good living as a consultant with Ambit?
The only method to generate money from this MLM is to recruit a large number of individuals into the MLM company. And you’ll have to do it knowing that 99.5% don’t make $35k a year.
It has never been in my best interests to recommend something to people knowing that they would almost certainly lose money as a result of it.
